Tea Story
When I set out to create this tea, I did not have a particular fairy tale in mind that I wished to emulate, which is a rare occurrence for me. Still, I knew precisely what I hoped to evoke, which was a glorious spring day, brimming with flowers and magic.
As you well know, this tea is inspired by fairy tale weddings, which may explain the Sakura blossoms. I had come upon an image of a cherry tree in full bloom, and I was instantly infatuated. The way its petals drifted to the ground reminded me vividly of an illustration of Sleeping Beauty's wedding by Artur Oppman.
This tea is most delicately flavored, with the fragrant Sakura blossoms, perfectly complementing the gentle peony white tea. This flavor profile paired so beautifully with the tart sweetness of wild strawberries that their addition seemed inevitable. Originally, this blend included pink cornflower petals to enhance its floral profile. In the end, however, they were exchanged for blue cornflower petals with a simple wave of my magic wand, for every wedding must have its something blue.
