The Magic of Fairest of Them All
Authors Note: Friends and fae, many of you will have already seen this post on our Substack. We decided that it was too good not to share here as well. Keep reading to find out how our Snow White tea came to be...

Dearest friends and fae,
I am here to tell you the most fantastical tale of one of our most magical blends, Fairest of Them All.
*Queue magical music*
As you may know (because I am assuming you are a member of the Gilded Coach Teas friends and fae1), Fairest of Them All is our German candied apple herbal tea (or tisane) that tastes of an apple picked at peak ripeness, then ceremoniously dipped into a sumptuous vat of caramel.
In essence, I (the lead fairy godmother) took a German candied apple, or a Liebesapfel (pronounced “lee-bes-app-full”), waved my magic wand, and turned it into a delightful tea blend for your drinking pleasure.
Now, let us discuss where the idea for this tea came from.
I have a running list of popularized fairy tales that I want to use as inspiration in upcoming teas.2
One such fairy tale was none other than that of Snow White. This dear little princess’s story completely enchanted me, and I knew that it needed to be incorporated into our Gilded Coach Teas lineup.
The approach that I take to creating our blends is as follows:
1. I choose the fairy tale, and I then comb through the story with a wand (crafted specifically for this task) to look for any mention of food that would lend itself to being a tasty tea blend.
2. Next comes history, we want the tea to be evocative of the fairy tale’s origin, so after picking out any mentions of food, it is time for the sit-down interview…
I conjured up a portal to transport me all the way to the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation (also known as Germany) to meet with the one and only Snow White.3 I needed to hear directly from her about her daily routine, her favorite foods, and which foods are adored by the people of her kingdom. I also had other questions, such as, What is her favorite time of year? When does she prefer to drink tea? Does she still like apples, or can she never look upon them again?
All of this was pertinent information.
After thanking me for my many questions, she proceeded to tell me that she does indeed still enjoy apples; they have to be thoroughly checked for poison, understandably. Also, much like the rest of her kingdom, she enjoys them in the colder months in the form of the Liebesfapfel, as mentioned earlier.
Snow White also told me of her evening routine as well as her favorite foods, and I am pleased to let you know that they will be featured in upcoming posts!
After she confirmed what I already knew - a candied apple was indeed the direction I should be going in - all that was left was for me to treat myself to one.
Snow White and I rode in my personal Gilded Coach to the town market to load up on winter treats.4
After that, I had absolutely everything I needed to craft the perfect tea blend that you now know as Fairest of Them All. It has been my sincerest pleasure to create, and I hope that you enjoy it, friends and fae!
Wishing you a most magical teatime,
- Marissa {Lead Fairy Godmother of Gilded Coach Teas}

P.S. For our friends and fae that might be more history oriented https://www.rachelhuffmire.com/post/margaretha-von-waldeck-the-truth-behind-snow-white
*Obviously, this is not considered canon in the GCT universe - here, Snow White is still thriving.
We call our community of enchanted tea drinkers (you all) our “friends and fae”.
Several fairy tales haven’t quite achieved global notoriety. Our fairies scour the globe for those stories, and implore you to stay tuned for the magic that we create with them!
You might wonder how I was able to communicate with the dear princess if I had to go all the way to medieval Germany to speak with her. While I am a fairy godmother of many talents, a polyglot I am not, and so a translation spell was employed.
“Load up” is my own phrasing, as a princess never “loads”.
